Version MCPS202301, January 2023. This Privacy Statement describes how me.scan company B.V., developer and supplier of the me.scan, handles the personal information you entrust to us when you visit our website(s).

We consider it important that you read this Privacy Statement carefully. Once you have successfully registered on one of the me.scan websites, you agree to the conditions set out in this Privacy Statement and to any other conditions included on our website(s), including any changes made to them from time to time. If you do not agree with the content of this Privacy Statement, you should not use our website(s) and should not complete your registration.

What information we collect from you

On some parts of our websites you can register and/or log in. We may collect, store or use certain personal information about you. The information we may collect from you includes, in any event, your username/email address, password, name, date of birth, organisation, level of education and gender. In addition, your address, telephone number, job title and organisation may be recorded if you enter this information in the space provided for your personal details.

If you complete the me.scan, your results are recorded in the me.scan database. These data are not accessible to third parties and are not used for any purpose other than generating the required reports. Those reports are accessible or available only to you personally and to the accredited me. coach and administrator(s) of the account. Reports are not provided to any other person without your explicit consent.

Like most other website operators, we analyse server log files to collect statistical information about the use of our websites. This kind of information is collected at an aggregated level only and includes browser types, operating systems, IP addresses, referring and exit pages, platform types, and date and time stamps.

Use of your information

We use the information we collect from you for the following purposes:

To provide you with, and inform you about, our products, services and organisation.
To respond to questions you submit through our websites.
To generate management information.
To maintain and support all registered me.scan accounts you hold with us, to facilitate your access and to provide you with sources, resources and other available materials.

We never sell or provide your personal information to third parties, and we use your personal data only for the purposes stated above.

Security

We have implemented an appropriate security policy, as well as rules and technical measures to protect against the loss, misuse and alteration of the data we manage. All data we collect are transmitted over a connection secured with an SSL certificate. Our platform has a two-step registration process and an “intrusion detection system”, intended to prevent unauthorised access, improper use or disclosure, unauthorised alteration, unlawful destruction and accidental loss. In addition, the (database) servers are located in an ISO 27001 certified data centre in Belgium.

Access to the personal information we process about you

You may contact us to find out what information we hold about you, or to exercise your right of access, to have your data deleted or to have them corrected.

Cookies

An ordinary visitor to this website receives no cookies. We use no analytics software, no advertising cookies and no social media cookies, and the fonts are hosted on our own server. Cookies are only set when you put something in the basket, when you log in, or when you make a cookie choice. These functional cookies do not require consent.

We also remember whether you chose the personal or the business view. That is not stored in a cookie but in your browser’s temporary storage (mescan-track), and it disappears as soon as you close the tab.

Services of others

Video (Bunny). There is a video on a few pages. We first show a still image from our own server; the video player of Bunny, a European video service, is only loaded when you click play. Bunny then receives your IP address, which is needed to send the video. The player sets no cookies, but it does store your player settings, such as the picture quality, in your browser’s local storage. According to Bunny, the player also stores the playback position there for up to seven days, so you can continue where you left off, and it sends anonymised technical data to Bunny, such as picture quality, errors and stalls.

Payment (Mollie). Payments are handled by Mollie. The checkout page loads a script from Mollie, with which you enter your credit card details directly with Mollie; Mollie receives your IP address in the process. For the other payment methods you go to Mollie’s site. What happens there is covered by Mollie’s privacy statement.

You can delete cookies and stored data in your browser settings. You will then have to log in again.

Changes to this Privacy Statement

me.scan company B.V. may renew or amend this Privacy Statement from time to time, in order to comply with the law or with our changing business needs, without further notice to you. Any updates or changes will be published on our website. By continuing to use any of our websites, you agree to be bound by the terms of those updates or changes.
